December Vacation Part 2 Grand Canyon

During our stay at the ranch we spent an afternoon at the Grand Canyon. To say it was amazing would be an understatement! It was breathtaking and spectacular! It was also the SCARIEST place ever for two parents of a 3 and 4 year old who hadn't napped (they rarely do these day but are still tired in the afternoons). There are no guard rails there. I don't think I really realized that until we got there. I had a hard time REALLY enjoying it because of this gut wrenching fear but it was one of the coolest places I have ever been to in my life.
We went on a wagon ride with about 6 cowboys before actually getting to the canyon
Stopping in this "town" to visit before getting to the Grand Canyon
Absolutely LOVE these two pictures of my babes!

December Vacation Part 1

The week before Christmas we took a 4 night Vacation as a family. We stayed the first two nights at a working ranch that was about 30 min from the west rim of the Grand Canyon. We stayed in a cabin with a loft that the boys got to stay in. It was a ton of fun to "rough" it for 2 nights. the boys had an absolute blast checking out all the animals and playing outside. This part of our vaca was the perfect yin to the yang of the second part.
Our Cabin
This inside of our cabin
Jordy LOVED this fake horse they had to sit on
Logan mustered up the courage to go talk to one of the cowboys and ask him to show Logan how to rope. I was proud of him.
They had a campfire for us the first night and this man kept us entertained with his singing and s'mores
Daddy and Jordy staying warm around the fire
The boys were pretty excited about sleeping in the loft
The boys feeding the bulls
Harper and I enjoying the fresh air and beauty around us
The boys got to ride a horse around the ranch and they even showed them how to ride all by themselves (for a short period :) )i am pretty sure this was one of the highlights of this part of the trip
Even Jeremy got to ride the horse
Our sweet Harper LOVED her cot and slept so good while we were there

Polar Express

A couple weeks ago, we went on the "Polar Express" to the "North Pole" to visit Santa! We love the movie, Polar Express, in our house and when we told the boys that we were going to go on it, they were totally excited. It was an awesome family day! The car we were on had its own elf and chef. They served cookies and milk and sang Christmas carols on our train ride to the "North Pole". We saw Santa's workshop and then got to visit with Santa! Logan was so sweet. He saved his cookie and gave it to Santa when he went up to him. Of course, Santa appreciated that. ;)

Santa came on the train after we visited the North Pole and passed out Candy Canes
Jordy was still a little nervous about going up to Santa without me so it became a family picture this year :)

Harper is 5 Months Old

Harper is 5 months old and we are starting to really see some of her personality. We are in the start of the really fun phase with her. She smiles at just about everything now although I would still say she is a pretty serious baby.

Some things she is doing now:
*She just started sitting up
*She is still just breastfeeding although is very interested in food
*She has the same issues with reflex that each of the boys went through at this age
*She is roliing all over and can get to just about whatever she wants
*She LOVES her toys and her teething toys
*She is wearing mainly 6 month clothes (She is long and thin)
*She is loving her bouncer and her walker

Busy Weekend

This past weekend was so ridiculously busy for our family. Two birthday parties and two Christmas Parties including one where the boys were up past midnight. All fun things but way to much! Thankfully we made it out in one piece.

No Girls Allowed!!

Ok so we were allowed but my better judgment did not allow for taking a 4 month old camping yet. The Sunday following Thanksgiving, Jeremy took the boys though! They headed back to the same place we camped before Harper was born, Dos Picos park. Jeremy had been wanting to go camping again for quite some time and this weekend turned out to be perfect! The boys did great and they had a blast going for hikes, riding their scooters, having campfires, and roasting smores. I am sure the next time they go, us gals will be allowed! ;)
Their campsite
So thankful they have a Daddy who loves to do this with them. Excited for them to have wonderful memories of this!
