Jordy is 5 Months Old!

I almost forgot that today Jordy turned 5 months old. Our little sweet pea is growing so fast and still staying so sweet. Don't get me wrong . . . he can scream with the best of them but his disposition is the sweetest.

Some things he is doing now:

  • Finally going to bed around 7pm

  • wearing nearly all 12 month clothes

  • Has eaten bananas, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes (Loves them all!)

  • Likes to laugh and is still super smily

  • When his reflux is really bothering him, his days are pretty rough and Mommy just wants to cry with him because he is in pain

  • Likes to grab for anything Mommy is doing while I am holding him

  • Loves to suck on his toes and pull his feet up

  • Can sit on his own for short periods of time

  • Likes to stare at people to get their attention and then shy away when they look at him

  • He is a finger sucker . . .Sometimes it's a thumb, sometimes it's 2 fingers, sometimes it's a whole fist!

  • I know there is more that I can't think of

Ty's Birthday Celebration!

This past weekend we got to celebrate Ty's 1st Birthday Party at a nearby park. We had a great time spending it with good friends. Happy Birthday Ty Ty!

And the only picture of my cuddlebug Jordy. Guess that's what happens when Mommy is holding him and taking pictures

Logan thought Daddy's new truck was pretty cool

We headed to The Rainforest Cafe to celebrate!

A Week of FIRSTS

Last week, my friend from my previous Target life, Danielle stopped by for a little afternoon playdate. It was so great getting to catch up with her and for her to see Logan and meet Jordy for the FIRST time.

Jordy and Logan's FIRST Bath together. They both thought it was pretty cool!

Logan loves to look out his window when he gets up in the morning or from nap. And I love watching him do this for some reason. It is a special memory for me for some reason.

Jordy's FIRST solids. He did pretty good with his rice cereal and bananas. I decided to start him shortly after his 4th month because it will hopefully help with his reflux and be less painful for him.

Saturday night we all went to our neighbor, Delaney's, FIRST street hockey game. Logan had a blast cheering her on and it was really fun to watch her play.

Daddy and Jordy cheering away!

Jordy's first solids and Logan entertaining himself and us with his "jumpingjacks" and his "frown face" That kid cracks me up!

Jordy is 4 Months Old and we are officially out of the infant stage. He is the smiliest, happiest, goofiest little baby.

Some things he is doing now:

  • Smiling at everyone
  • Soooo close to giggleing
  • Has found his voice and loves to talk especially at night after Logan goes down
  • He still loves to snuggle and prefers to be held
  • He is now on Zantac for his acid reflux (Logan was on the same thing at his age)
  • Loves to stand as much as he can
  • Is in mainly 9-12 month clothes at the moment
  • Still not going to bed until about 9:00 but slowly working on a better bed time
  • Still sleeping one generally long stretch of 4-6 hours and then up every 2 after
  • Starting to have a bit of a routine with three naps during the day
  • Is generally very laid back although does have a strong cry when he wants something
  • Can roll from tummy to back and back to tummy

Jordy's 4 month measurements:

Height: 26.3in - 86%

Weight: 15lbs 3oz - 51%

Nursing ELMO???? What!

Ok so funny story . . . The other day Logan was pushing his Elmo doll around the house in a stroller. He came into the nursery and decided he should change his diaper on the changing pad. (yes Elmo was wearing diaper) He proceded to change the diaper as best he could. All the while I am in the rocking chair watching Jordy and Kenley nearby. (Sidenote . . . Logan had a bucket of play food that gets dumped out in whatever room we happen to be in at the moment daily and multiple times daily so of course there is play food all over the floor) I say to Logan after he is done changing Elmo's diaper, "Elmo seems hungry. Maybe you could feed him." Logan stands in front of me holding Elmo with a very puzzled look on his face for what seemed like minutes. He then slowly lifted his shirt and stuck Elmo under to nurse him! I almost fell out of the rocking chair laughing so hard. Poor little guy stuck at home with mommy too long!

Jordy's Baptism

We headed back to Omaha this past weekend for a quick trip to have Jordy baptized. I wish it would have been longer so we could have seen some friends. I guess we will have to save that for a later date. Sorry friends! But it was wonderful getting to spend time with our family. Logan loved being at Grandma and Papa Stanzel's because he knew everyone that was there. If someone stepped out of the room he would ask me where they went by naming them with a ? He definitely loved the attention and has been going through family withdrawls since we got back. Jordy also decided that right in the middle of his baptism he would find his voice. It was too funny because he was pretty loud through the whole thing. It was also very nice to have him baptized in the same church I went to school at, Jeremy and I got married in, and Logan was baptized in. Overall awesome weekend!
